"Big Time Fans" is the second episode of the second season of Big Time Rush and the twentieth episode overall. It first aired on Nickelodeon on October 1, 2010.

Plot[]

The boys get a visit from their clumsy hometown friend Jenny Tinkler who has moved to LA to pursue her dream of being a lead singer in a band. This is due to Carlos promising her that he would help that dream come true. The boys help Carlos but they are still reluctant and reminisce about their old memories with Jenny. Mr. Bitters comes in and tells the boys that she's just moved in and already caused a lot of damage. Kendall and Carlos are surprised that Jenny improved her singing after taking lessons. She celebrates with them but they end up falling in the lobby. Angry, Mr. Bitters threatens to kick her out or the boys if she causes more damage. Finding an advertisement for a female vocalist, Jenny then goes to Canada with Guitar Dude but she ends up destroying his van. Kendall and Carlos are forced to break their promise to Jenny, causing her to get sad. Camille suggests that they can land her with an international company but she ends up hospitalizing the agents. Mr. Bitters has had enough and kicks Jenny out. However, the band Death Smash recruits her because of not only her singing, but her destructive personality and she was the lead singer they were looking for. After they do make Jenny's dreams come true, Carlos promises never to over-promise again. A few seconds later, a guy comes to make his dreams come true because yet again Carlos promises to make it come true much to everyone's dismay.

Subplot[]

Meanwhile, Gustavo and Kelly have to fix a fan with the help of Logan since a rock band threatens to beat them up if they do not. The lead singer then smashes the thermostat but is sucked in by the fan and is thrown in the dumpster. His bandmates admit that they never liked him in the first place.

James is visited by an overexcited fan only to find out that the boy wants to replace James. The boy locks James up in the basement until Katie finds him and frees him.

Trivia[]

  • In this episode James believes that Katie has a crush on him though she tries over and over to deny it.
  • Jenny proves that she now actually can sing thanks to her coach and every lesson she was taking.
  • Kendall says they never broke a promise but in Big Time Audition and Big Time Concert they broke their promise to Ms. Majecowsky.
  • James says that Jenny broke his arm playing Marbles and then he pointed at his arm. But James Maslow the actor that plays James Diamond actually has a scar on his left arm because of a hockey-stunt scene.
  • The van which Guitar-Dude uses for his Canadian tour is the same van that is used by Erwin Sikowitz in the nickelodeon show "Victorious" in episodes such as "The Great Ping-Pong Scam" and "The Diddly-Bops."
  • The man with the blonde hair from the band "Death Smash" actually spoke with a Scottish accent, not British.
  • In this episode it is revealed that James' idols are Mahatma Gandhi Abraham Lincoln and David Hasselhoff.
  • Later in the episode there is a new ad on the message boards from Guitar Dude that says "Guitarist looking for repair man" with a picture of the van that Jenny destroyed.
  • The episode Big Time Fans means the following: the boys getting a visit by Jenny, Logan helping fix a fan and an obsessed fan who wants to be the new James.

Quotes[]

James: Well, I was told not to give fans advice...but I like your style.

Carlos: She's gonna kill us!
Logan: Not if we kill her first!
Kendall: Nobody is going to kill anything.

Carlos: Is the bad stuff over?
James: PS: "We promise we'll help you!"
Kendall: What did we tell you about making promises you can't keep?!
Carlos: But it's Jenny! We love Jenny!

Katie: I'm just saying you're 30% ignorant, 30% arrogant, and 40% idiot. So be careful of fans. (walks away)
James: .... She so has a giant crush on me.

Goofs[]

  • In the episode, Bitters throws Jenny, Kendall and Carlos (which means the entire band was kicked out of the Palm Woods), yet in the next episode, they are still living there. Then again, it is possible that Bitters meant Jenny was thrown out and he is still letting the band stay, or offscreen Gustavo and Kelly got them back into their lease for the Palm Woods.
  • In reality, Jenny would get arrested for all the damage she caused.
